Woodland Charter Elementary School

CORPORATE ARTS PROJECT #173

Laurie Swift, Director of Procurement and Corporate Services at Mirant Corporation commissioned twenty eight students from Woodland Charter Elementary School to create an artwork to the themes of “The Power of Creative Energy”, "Generating Pride - The People and Parts of My Life That Makes Me Proud" and "My Glimpse of Nature" as part of ArtsNow’s Community in Action Initiative. Finally, the students delivered their artwork on December 15, 2008 to the executives of Mirant Corporation. Each student made a brief presentation and received recognition for their generosity of spirit and outstanding creativity in art.

Through this project the students returned $750 to purchase art supplies for their classroom teachers at Woodland Charter ElementarySchool.
